New Plymouth filly London Express will be out to start the new season the way she ended her 2017-18 campaign.

The daughter of Shamexpress took her record to two wins and two placings from four starts when coming with a strong finish to win the Listed Castletown Stakes at Wanganui on June 2 before being sent for a spell.

She is now being set for a return to racing in the Listed O’Learys Fillies’ Stakes at Wanganui on September 8.

“She’s done well with her break and she’s on track for Wanganui,” trainer Allan Sharrock said. “I really like her and she’ll be looking to get a mile in the spring. She’ll follow the Filly of the Year series.”

Sharrock also has a further stakes mission in mind for stablemate Art Deco, a last-start fourth placegetter in the Listed Opunake Cup.

“She’ll run in an open 1300 metres here (August 25) then go to Awapuni,” he said.

The Awapuni mission is the Gr. 3 Boehringer Ingelheim 1550 (formerly Merial Metric Mile) on September 15
