Circus Maximus filly Ha'Penny Hatch gains Australian 2YO Black Type

2YO Circus Maximus filly Ha'Penny Hatch took on stakes company at the weekend to give the sire his first Australian black type performer. Trained by Paul Shailer, the filly will now look to go to Gr.2 Queensland Sires Produce Stakes 

The New Zealand-bred filly won her only two starts prior in impressive fashion both at Eagle Farm going into the race and was able to put in a brave effort coming off the speed in the Listed Calway Gal Stakes at Eagle Farm on Saturday to just go down to favourite to go down by 3/4 of a length under Damien Thornton.

Shailer was using the Calway Gal as a springboard into the Group 2 BRC Sires’ Produce Stakes over 1400 meters at Eagle Farm on May 31 where she is targeted for her next start. 

Meanwhile, Circus Maximus has his other performers include metro-placed Rufus, Towering Vision, Miss Parker and recent debut placegetter Engine of War who are all marching towards their 3YO season in progressive form.


Circus Maximus recently was announced at a fee of $17,500 + GST for the 2025 breeding season
