Amfissa strides clear for Waller and Mongolian Khan

Mongolian Khan 3yo gelding, Amfissa made amends from some tidy lead up starts to put away a quality maiden field by 1.2 Lengths at Pakenham on Thursday.

The great type, who was a $200,000 as a yearling to the bid of Guy Mulcaster Bloodstock, was short in the market for his 3rd start but was able to make amends from the good draw, to race in the box seat, and comfortably put away the field in the straight displaying a nice turn of foot.

The colt was a great pinhook result for Chad Ormsby and Aliesha Moroney who bought the colt as a weanling from his breeder Dan Myers for $45,000 and subsequently sold it as a yearling for $200,000 to Guy Mulcaster at Karaka.

This is one of 2 impressive types for Chris Waller by the sire, Mongolian Khan who had a first starter last week, named Supression, who ran home nicely last week for 2nd and looks to be one to keep an eye on.

Mongolian Khan has some very nice types running around including Supreme Khan, Mongolian Wings, Ulaanbatah, Black Queen and now Amfissa and Supression.
